Unexpected Guest

The sweet smell of days old fruit —

Nectar envelops, swallows whole

Smothering what remains;

Kissed by waters warm

Eyes cloaked in viscous pitch

Floating into ether

Fading into dust

Am I simply dying—

or untowardly wait unborn?
